DEHRADUN, 25 Jul: The dharna and the protest of the National Safai Karmachari Mazdoor Union at the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam) continue for the past six days over their demands. Recently, Union's State president Chaudhary Naresh Ved, Municipal Corporation branch president Sunil Kumar alias Sonu Khairwal and Secretary Dheeraj Bharti met Ashok Verma, Vice-Chairman of the State Backward Classes Welfare Council. A detailed discussion was held on the demands placed by the Union, with consensus reached on several points.

Later, Verma also met Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal at his office and discussed the Union's demands, urging that an early solution be worked out. Subsequently,...
