Srinagar (Garhwal), 5 Oct: A two-day national symposium, under the National Medicinal Plants Board project, Government of India, commenced on Monday at the High Altitude Plant Physiology Research Centre of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. Experts deliberated on issues related to the Himalayan region's environmental challenges, changing land use and land cover, climate change, agriculture, medicinal plant resources, and rural livelihoods. Speakers emphasized the need to integrate research into solutions to real-life problems facing local communities and villages, rather than limiting it to academic publications.
