MONROVIA, Sept. 3 -- Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr. has been appointed First Vice Chair of the Continental Immunization Advisory Council (CIAC), placing the Liberian lawmaker in a key leadership position within a continental body responsible for providing strategic guidance on immunization and related public health priorities across Africa.

The appointment, formally communicated by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), brings Senator Snowe into the leadership of the CIAC alongside two other officials selected to guide the council's work.
