Liberia, Aug. 3 -- President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has expressed profound grief over the death of the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. Abass Kanneh, describing his passing as a significant loss to Liberia and the global Muslim community.

In a message of condolence on July 31, President Boakai extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, the National Muslim Council of Liberia and Muslims across the country following the announcement that Dr. Kanneh, who died in the early hours of Wednesday, July 29 in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
