GANTA, Nimba County, Nov. 2 -- What began as a celebration of the arrival of Nimba County's share of the government's yellow machines turned tragic on Saturday, October 31 near the Ganta Checkpoint when the Town Chief of Garr Gbeassila, Franklin Yeekpeh was allegedly hit by Nimba County District Number 3 Representative Nehker Gaye's vehicle.

Garr Gbeassila Town is situated on the Ganta-Sanniquellie High Way in District #2 Nimba County.

The celebration began in Sokopa Town, located between Bong and Nimba Counties where a large number of Nimbaians gathered near the St. John River to receive the county's share of the yellow machines.
