Liberia, Sept. 30 -- The Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) on September 23 formally renewed Jungle Energy Power's (JEP) Large-Scale Distribution license after completing a multi-year review and public consultation process.

Speaking at the certification ceremony, LERC Managing Director, Augustus V. Goanue, said the renewal process began in 2021 and was reactivated in June after JEP's previous license expired.

He stressed that the commission followed statutory procedures for a full documentary and public review rather than treating the renewal as a routine administrative extension. "We held a public hearing on the ninth at Liberia International Christian Community College," Goanue said.
