Liberia: Human Rights Watch Report Reveals Only 38 Percent of Children Complete Grade 6 and Just 17 Percent Complete Grade 9
MONROVIA, May 21 -- A latest report compiled by internationally acclaimed rights group, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has exposed a deepening crisis in Liberia's education system, revealing the country has one of the highest out-of-school rates in the world.

The report, released on Wednesday, May 20, states that roughly one-third of all school-age children, ages 3 to 17, and half of rural children have never attended school.
The report points out that only 38 percent of children in Liberia complete grade 6, and just 17 percent complete grade 9, placing the country among the worst-performing education systems globally.
