Monrovia, Aug. 31 -- The opposition Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) has rejected an invitation from the former ruling Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) to attend a roundtable for opposition political leaders on the grounds that the CDC has predetermined a leadership for the opposition ahead of the 2029 presidential and legislative elections in Liberia.

CDC invited various opposition political parties, including the CMC, to participate in an Opposition Leaders' Roundtable scheduled for September 5, 2026, at the Jamaica Resort, outside Monrovia.
