MONROVIA, Sept. 12 -- A former Maryland County quizzer and coach, Freddie Goe, has donated US$35 to the county's quizzing team following reports about the difficult conditions under which the players are staying during the ongoing National Quizzing Tournament.

Goe visited the team on Friday and also pledged to support their feeding and help improve their sleeping arrangements after reports that some players were sleeping on the bare floor due to limited mattresses.

The team is currently staying at a local school building in Day Break Mouth Open Community, where technical staff said the players have been facing challenges with accommodation, food and transportation.
