Ex-VP Jewel Howard Taylor Charged With Drug Trafficking, Money Laundering Over US$317M Cocaine Bust
Monrovia, Aug. 19 -- The Government of Liberia has charged former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor with drug trafficking and money laundering in connection with the investigation into the seizure of a US$317 million cocaine shipment in Paynesville.

Justice Minister N. Oswald Tweh announced the charges Wednesday at a press conference, saying Taylor has been charged under provisions of Liberia's Controlled Drugs and Substances Act of 2023.
Minister Tweh emphasized that the charges remain allegations and that Taylor is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of jurisdiction.
