Liberia, March 26 -- In 2002, while serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I led a delegation of representatives from international organizations and diplomatic missions to Lofa County on a humanitarian assessment mission focused on internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the Liberian Civil War. The delegation included U.S. Ambassador Bismarck Myrick, UN Representative Dr. Adeneji, Nigerian Ambassador Ogbonnaya Nduaka, Ghanaian Ambassador Kwame Amoah Awuah, Sierra Leonean Ambassador Patrick James Foyah, the EU Head of Delegation, and the Head of UNHCR.
