India, April 21 -- At interpack 2026, Syntegon will showcase the next evolution of its proven SVX platform: a new corner seal capability that expands the range of bag styles manufacturers can process on a single vertical form, fill and seal (VFFS) machine. By adding corner sealed block-bottom, Full Corner and Doypack styles to the portfolio, Syntegon continues its journey of increasing flexibility and versatility within the SVX family.
With the new configuration, Syntegon responds directly to growing market demand. Corner seal bags are widely used in confectionery, snacks and bakery applications, particularly for premium products where shelf appearance and stability are decisive purchasing factors. At the same time, these advanced bag styles are known to challenge both machine performance and operator handling. Syntegon therefore placed a clear focus on consistency, reproducibility and user friendliness when developing the new solution.
Setting the performance benchmark in corner sealing
SVX is engineered to consistently reach up to 120 bags per minute in corner seal applications an impressive performance level in this demanding segment. To achieve this, Syntegon systematically eliminated factors that typically limit processing speed in corner sealing.
A newly integrated automatic axial adjustment introduces an additional control loop for the film reel position. This enables the machine to autonomously compensate for minor deviations and maintain precise positioning of the corner seals. The position of the film with sealed corners is automatically controlled via advanced web tracking, ensuring stable processes even after reel changes. As a result, operators no longer need to intervene during production to rectify corner seals a major advantage in terms of uptime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Improved reproducibility, easier access and user-friendly operator assistance
Corner seal applications are particularly sensitive during format changes and reel replacements, where precise alignment is crucial. To support operators, the SVX Agile integrates operator assistance, enabling guided format changes. This reduces set-up time and ensures that optimal settings can be reproduced reliably.
Enhanced accessibility further simplifies handling. Forming and sealing units are accessible from the rear and from the sides without opening doors, giving operators a clear view of the film with sealed corners. These measures contribute to greater process stability and provide operators with additional peace of mind.
Future-proof solution for sustainable packaging
From a sustainability perspective, the new corner seal capability is designed to process mono-materials reliably, which are typically more challenging to handle in corner sealing applications. Manufacturers can therefore not only transition to more environmentally friendly materials, but also process them more efficiently. Compared to conventional machines, the improved reproducibility and controlled set-up significantly reduce material waste during commissioning and adjustments an additional benefit in times of rising material costs and stricter environmental targets.
Developed with customers, proven in the field
The SVX platform was developed in close exchange with customers to address real-world challenges. Adding advanced bag styles such as corner seal, the packaging machine often becomes the bottleneck of the entire line, says Martin Boutkan, Product Manager VFFS Technology at Syntegon. Every improvement at this machine immediately pays off in higher overall performance. With SVX, we combine speed, consistency and ease of use in a way that truly supports our customers productivity and future growth of their business.
At interpack 2026, visitors can experience firsthand how the SVX configuration sets new standards for premium vertical packaging combining top performance, maximum reproducibility and readiness for sustainable materials in one platform.
