India, Sept. 24 -- ThreoTech, LLC, the exclusive global supplier of Magtein, announced that new findings on Magtein in collegiate athletes will be spotlighted at SupplySide Global on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 9:0010:00 AM PST.

The breakfast briefing, "Magnesium L-Threonate (Magtein) in Collegiate Athletes: Lessons from the UCLA Sports Medicine Study," will be led by Dr. Jeremy Swisher, MD, UCLA Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor and sports medicine physician.

Magtein is the patented, proprietary form of magnesium that supports healthy magnesium levels in the brain by facilitating magnesium delivery across the bloodbrain barrier and into brain neurons, helping maintain optimal magnesium availability where it is needed.

To date, five peer-reviewed, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trials (RCTs) on Magtein have been published across three countries: the United States, China, and Australia. These results have demonstrated improvements in brain health, cognitive vitality, and sleep quality across diverse adult populations. Additional human RCTs are underway, including studies conducted by independent research groups, further expanding the clinical evidence base for Magtein.

As the Magtein research base has grown, it has become an increasingly trusted magnesium form for studying brain magnesium, cognition, and healthy brain function across both preclinical and human research, with the evidence base now spanning more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Now researchers have carried out the first study specifically exploring Magteins benefits in athletes. This randomized, placebo-controlled study in UCLA college athletes examined whether the sleep benefits previously demonstrated with Magtein extend to an athletic population, while also assessing recovery and physical performance over four weeks.

At SupplySide Global, ThreoTech the commercial team behind Magtein will hold a breakfast briefing to discuss the research recently carried out by Dr. Swisher's group at UCLA. These preliminary findings were first presented as a poster at the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) Annual Meeting in April 2026, and full results are scheduled to be published in a peer-reviewed journal later this year.

Dr. Jeremy Swisher, MD, Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA, is the Principal Investigator of the study. Dr. Swisher specializes in the care of student athletes and is the head team physician for UCLA Women's Volleyball and Swim & Dive. He has provided medical coverage for the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, and LA Sparks.

Dr. Rafea Naffa, Director of R&D at ThreoTech, said: Weve always been interested in Magteins potential in sports nutrition, and we're delighted that new research is now specifically examining Magtein's benefits in athletes. Were particularly excited that this work is independently coming out of UCLA, and were looking forward to welcoming Dr. Swisher to SupplySide Global.
