India, April 6 -- Kezzler, a global leader in traceability solutions, is proud to announce a partnership with GS1 Mexico. Together, they are launching a pilot concept designed to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in achieving compliance with the FDAs FSMA Section 204 regulation.

The pilot aims to provide a scalable, standards-based solution for selected GS1 Mexico members to navigate the complexities of the Food Traceability Rule and enhance overall traceability. As the food industry faces stricter record keeping requirements for items on the Food Traceability List (FTL), this initiative provides a clear path for smaller brand owners to digitize their supply chains.

In todays food safety ecosystem, traceability has evolved from a competitive advantage into a legal imperative under the FSMA regulation, said Alejandro Trejo, Director of Liaison, Market Development and Associates at GS1 Mexico. GS1 global standards provide the common language that makes rapid supply chain visibility possible, using identifiers like GTINs for products and GLNs for locations. While FSMA defines what must be tracked, GS1 standards help companies implement how to do it in an interoperable way.

Leveraging GS1 standards and Kezzlers high-performance cloud architecture, the pilot lowers the barrier to entry for SMEs who may lack the internal IT infrastructure to manage complex traceability requirements independently.

This partnership is about leveling the playing field for SMEs who often dont have the technology or capital to meet the new traceability requirements emerging across the globe, said Frederic Clulow, General Manager (US) at Kezzler. By serving as a unified EPCIS repository that brings together complex supply chain events for them, we aim to demonstrate that size is no longer a barrier to meeting digital supply chain and product disclosure requirements.

The Kezzler Platform will serve as the central EPCIS repository for the project. Participants will contribute Key Data Elements for Critical Tracking Events across shipping, receiving and transformation events. Kezzlers platform will harmonize, standardize and interpret data to create a cohesive genealogy of the products journey. This unified data set will not only ensure regulatory compliance but also power advanced reporting and analytics for the participating brands.

The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to food safety and transparency across the North American supply chain.
