COLOMBO, May 7 -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee and President of Vietnam, To Lam, is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka Thursday (7) night for an official state visit aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation across trade, investment and emerging economic sectors.

The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A high-level Vietnamese delegation of nearly 200 members is expected to accompany President To Lam during the visit, reflecting the growing importance both countries place on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.
