UN calls for justice over Dehiwala grenade attack that killed two children
COLOMBO, Sept. 14 -- The United Nations in Sri Lanka has expressed shock and deep concern over the killing of two children in a grenade attack in Dehiwala, calling for those responsible to be swiftly brought to justice.
UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka Marc-Andre Franche said he was deeply saddened by the deaths of the two brothers in the attack.
In a post on X, Franche said: "The killing of two children in Dehiwala is deeply distressing. No child should ever be the victim of such heinous violence. Those responsible must be brought to justice and held accountable."
He also extended his deepest condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives.
