COLOMBO, July 15 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Wednesday(15) chaired a high-level review of the Ministry of Energy's 2026 budget implementation and outlined priorities for the 2027 budget, with a focus on accelerating renewable energy initiatives, strengthening power infrastructure and completing key fuel-sector projects.

The meeting, held at the Presidential Secretariat, reviewed the progress of projects funded under the 2026 budget, assessed those expected to be completed this year and discussed funding requirements for next year's programs.
