President appoints committee to review prison rules on detention of Buddhist monks
COLOMBO, Oct. 8 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed a special committee to review and update the regulations and standing orders governing Sri Lanka's prison system, including provisions relating to the detention of Buddhist monks and their production outside prison premises.
