COLOMBO, July 6 -- Sri Lanka's Deputy Speaker Dr Rizvie Salih and Member of Parliament and leader of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Rauff Hakeem, officially paid their final respects to Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during his state funeral ceremonies in the Iranian capital.

The senior Sri Lankan lawmakers visited Iran at the formal invitation of the Iranian government. While attending the final rites, the delegates signed the official visitors' condolence book to convey the deep sympathies of the government and the people of Sri Lanka to the Islamic Republic.
