COLOMBO, July 27 -- The Court of Appeal is scheduled to resume hearing on Tuesday (28) the writ petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director, Major General Suresh Sallay, challenging his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) over the 'Easter Sunday' bombing investigation.

The petition was taken up before the Court of Appeal on Monday (27), during which Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath made extensive submissions on behalf of the respondents, including Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara.

Counsel appearing for Sallay also presented submissions before the court.
