COLOMBO, Aug. 10 -- A total of 372,310 candidates are scheduled to sit for the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (AL) examination at 2,532 centres across the country, beginning Monday (10).

Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari Liyanage said all arrangements have been completed for the smooth conduct of the examination, including the deployment of supervisory staff and other logistical preparations.

Of the total candidates, 264,496 are school applicants, and 107,814 are private candidates. The examination will continue until September 5.
