India, July 29 -- Tom Holland has emerged as the world's highest-grossing young actor after a string of blockbuster successes, with his films collectively earning billions at the global box office and cementing his place among Hollywood's biggest stars.
Marvel franchise powers record earnings
Holland's rise has largely been driven by his portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beginning with Captain America: Civil War in 2016, he went on to headline the Spider-Man trilogy while appearing in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. His films as a lead actor have grossed more than $9.9 billion worldwide, making him one of the highest-grossing actors in film history.
