India, July 23 -- Despite the Tamil Nadu government imposing a strict price cap of Rs190 for the movie Jana Nayagan, distributors and theatre owners are reportedly selling tickets at illegally inflated rates across the state.
Widespread Violations Reported in Districts
Chaos erupted in several regions, most notably in Namakkal, where viral footage captured fans confronting theatre management over tickets allegedly sold for Rs300. While the management denied these claims and accused fans of reselling tickets for as much as Rs1000, audiences continue to report price gouging at the windows. Instances of overcharging have surfaced in other areas:
