India, Aug. 11 -- Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day has overtaken James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water to become the highest-grossing Hollywood film in Indian box office history. The Marvel film has reportedly earned around 497 crore gross in India, surpassing Avatar 2's lifetime haul of 477.50 crore.
Spider-Man takes the top spot
Avatar: The Way of Water had held the record since its release in 2022, when its spectacular visuals and franchise appeal helped it deliver a huge theatrical run in India. Brand New Day has now moved ahead after a rapid run at the domestic box office, setting a new benchmark for Hollywood releases.
