India, Sept. 23 -- Shruti Haasan has revealed that she once came close to getting married, but the experience did not change her reservations about the institution. Speaking on Soha Ali Khan's podcast, the actor and singer said she values companionship while questioning the need for marriage paperwork and extravagant wedding celebrations.

Shruti clarified that she does not oppose marriage itself. However, she said she has always preferred living without fitting herself into conventional expectations.
