India, Aug. 21 -- Ridley Scott's return to science fiction with The Dog Stars brings a post-apocalyptic survival story that deliberately moves away from the bleak conventions of the genre, placing optimism and human connection at its centre.

Jacob Elordi Leads the Survival Story

Based on Peter Heller's 2012 novel, the film stars Jacob Elordi as Hig, a mechanic who survives a devastating pandemic that has wiped out most of humanity, including his wife. He lives at an abandoned airport in Colorado with his ageing dog and Bangley, an ex-military survivor played by Josh Brolin.
