India, Oct. 29 -- Actor Manoj Bajpayee, in comments reported in an entertainment article updated on Oct. 28, 2026, described a low phase in his career before films such as Raajneeti, Gangs Of Wasseypur and Special 26, and said meetings and conversations with filmmakers including Neeraj Pandey, Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Jha led to those opportunities.
Career low and turning down roles
Bajpayee said that before those films, he experienced “some lows” and that the kind of work he wanted was not coming his way.
He said he was refusing films and “saying no to people,” and added that even among the projects he accepted, he was not happy doing those films.
