India, Sept. 10 -- Kunal Kemmu has clarified that his upcoming spy comedy Vibe is not intended as a spoof of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan or Salman Khan's Tiger franchise, despite a teaser reference that led audiences to draw comparisons.
Kunal Kemmu clears the air
Kemmu, who stars in and directs the film, said the story existed with him even before he became a director. He explained that Pathaan had not even been released when he first developed the idea.
The filmmaker said the project was never written as a parody or as a dig at another Bollywood movie. Instead, the references were included because Pathaan and Tiger have become widely recognised names associated with the spy genre.
