India, Sept. 16 -- Indian singer-composer Joi Barua has joined an international musical collaboration connecting NASA astrophysics with performing arts, contributing melodies to songs inspired by the science of exploding stars and the origins of elements.

Linking music with space science

The project, titled Cosmic Rhapsody, brings together NASA's COSI mission, led by principal investigator John Tomsick at UC Berkeley's Space Sciences Laboratory, and an orchestral and multimedia production created by Susan Lim and Christina Teenz Tan. French composer Manu Martin serves as the chief composer, orchestrator and arranger.
