India, Oct. 26 -- Lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar commented on the trolling of actor Rashmika Mandanna over her accent and pronunciation, after she addressed criticism of her South Indian accent and Hindi dialogue delivery during her appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9, published on Oct. 25, 2026.

Akhtar wrote on X about what he described as objections to Mandanna’s pronunciation and called her a “Tamil actor.” He also referred to Tamil as “the oldest spoken language in the world” and said “fake and baseless linguistic superiority is not acceptable.”
