India, Sept. 10 -- Na Hong-jin's Korean thriller Hope takes a familiar creature-feature premise and expands it into a sprawling blend of monster horror, science fiction, dark humour and human drama. The film, which marks the filmmaker's return after a decade, has been described as his biggest and most ambitious work yet.
A mysterious attack
Set in Hope Harbor near South Korea's Demilitarized Zone, the story begins after a mysterious animal attack. Police chief Bum-seok investigates the destruction, with hunters initially suspecting that a tiger may have crossed into the area from North Korea.
