India, Aug. 12 -- South Korean actor Ha Young has apologised after historical records linked her great-grandfather, physician Ahn Sang Ho, to a colonial-era organisation associated with Japan, triggering backlash and disrupting promotions for her Netflix series Our Sticky Love.
Controversy Begins After TV Appearance
The controversy surfaced after Ha Young appeared on the KBS variety show Problem Child in House on August 7, where she spoke about her family's four-generation medical legacy. She said her great-grandfather had studied Western medicine in Japan, opened a Western-style clinic in Hanyang and, according to her family history, treated Emperor Gojong.
