India, Sept. 10 -- Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis died in Athens at the age of 54 after suffering a reported cardiac arrest, with details surrounding the medical emergency still emerging. The musician was taken to Elpis Hospital, where doctors were unable to revive him. His official cause of death has not yet been announced.

Medical emergency in Athens

According to reports cited by Hindustan Times, an emergency call was made to Greece's National Emergency Aid Centre from a private stem cell clinic in Athens, where Mazonakis had reportedly gone for a scheduled procedure. An emergency responder reached the clinic at around 4:26 pm local time and administered CPR before he was transported to Elpis Hospital.
