India, July 28 -- A Los Angeles judge has ruled that there is enough evidence for indie pop singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, to stand trial on charges linked to the killing of a 14-year-old girl, marking a major step forward in one of the entertainment industry's most closely watched criminal cases.

Judge finds sufficient evidence

The ruling came after a five day preliminary hearing during which prosecutors presented witness testimony, forensic evidence and crime scene photographs. Judge Charlaine Olmedo concluded that the prosecution had established probable cause for the case to proceed before a jury.
