India, Aug. 11 -- The Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) is facing an internal crisis after 11 members resigned, including eight elected Executive Committee members, alleging a lack of collective decision-making and accusing President Poonam Dhillon and Senior Vice President Padmini Kolhapure of misusing their positions. The resigning members have also called for fresh elections.
Members allege unilateral decisions
The eight elected members said the association's functioning had increasingly become concentrated around Dhillon, Kolhapure and a section of the Executive Committee. They alleged that Dhillon repeatedly took decisions without consulting or obtaining approval from the wider committee.
