India, June 16 -- Legendary Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has emerged from an induced coma following emergency intestinal surgery performed in Faro, Portugal.

The 74 year old artist is now awake and responding during her recovery period according to a statement released on her official website. Although she is no longer comatose, medical professionals describe her current state as very unwell while she remains under observation in intensive care.
