Dhaka, Aug. 28 -- China will invest in establishing a waste-to-energy power plant in Aminbazar. A tripartite agreement on the project will be signed in Beijing on September 2. Electricity generation from the plant is expected to begin in 2028, with the Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) set to purchase the electricity at Tk 25 per unit.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Dr. Abdul Moin Khan at the Secretariat on Thursday. The issues were discussed during the meeting.

LGRD State Minister Mir Shahe Alam was also present at the meeting. Speaking to journalists, he said China wants to increase its investment in waste-to-energy projects. ...
