Dhaka, Sept. 1 -- A special incentive package has been announced for installing rooftop solar power systems with battery storage, with the price of electricity generated under the scheme set at Tk 10.50 per unit.

The Power Division issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

According to the notification, considering the current market prices and the rates received through various tenders by the Power Division, the maximum cost of generating rooftop solar electricity with battery storage has been set at Tk 8 per unit. As part of the special incentive, a 20 percent profit and an 11.25 percent premium have been added to the generation cost, bringing the price of electricity to Tk 10.50 per unit.
