Dhaka, Aug. 15 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed regret to the people of the country for the public suffering caused by the ongoing gas and electricity crisis. Calling on everyone to remain patient, he said the problems with electricity and gas would be resolved within the next few days.

He made the remarks on Saturday at a cheque-distribution and prayer event at the Mohakhali T&T Field. The prime minister distributed financial assistance and cheques among underprivileged people on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
