Bangladesh, March 14 -- Gas supply to the national grid from the Srikail-5 well has begun, with an average of around 8 million cubic feet of gas being supplied daily.
On Saturday, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit inaugurated the supply of gas discovered from the Srikail-5 appraisal and development well to the national grid.
The well is estimated to hold around 40 billion cubic feet (BCF) of gas, of which 28 BCF is considered recoverable.
Over the next 10 years, the gas expected to be produced from this well is valued at approximately Tk 6,832 crore at current market prices.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
