Bangladesh Seeks Increased Diesel Imports from India
Dhaka, Aug. 6 -- Bangladesh has asked India to increase diesel supplies through the existing cross-border pipeline as the country seeks to strengthen energy cooperation with its neighbor.
The request was made during a meeting at the Secretariat between Bangladesh's Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, and Dines Tridevi, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mahmud said Bangladesh had requested India to increase diesel exports through the pipeline.
He described the meeting as a routine bilateral engagement, saying the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and India, including energy cooperation.
