Dhaka, Oct. 8 -- The Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) has approved the start of nuclear reaction at the first unit of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

The approval was granted on Thursday. With this, Bangladesh has moved one step closer to generating nuclear electricity for the first time.
