Dhaka, Aug. 7 -- The government has approved the purchase of one cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The LNG will be procured on a short-term basis through a government-to-government direct purchase from Aramco Trading Singapore.

The approval was given at a virtual meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase held on Friday, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

The LNG cargo will be purchased at a price of US$21.55 per MMBtu for delivery during the period of August 11-12.
