Dhaka, Aug. 2 -- The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been increased in Bangladesh. The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been raised by Tk 70 to Tk 1,598, up from Tk 1,528 last month.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new prices on Sunday.

BERC has fixed the retail price of LPG at Tk 133.15 per kilogram. Based on this rate, the prices of cylinders of different sizes have also been revised.

According to BERC, the new prices have been determined by considering the increase in international prices of propane and butane, shipping freight, traders' premium, and the exchange rate of the US dollar.
