Women leaders hail expanded representation at Congress general convention
Nepal, Oct. 6 -- Nepali Congress leaders have welcomed changes to the party's organisational structure that guarantee women greater representation in its top leadership.
The party's 15th general convention has amended its statute to reserve one vice-president and one general secretary post for women. It has also guaranteed two women's posts at the joint general secretary level, one to be elected and the other nominated by the party president.
Congress Vice-President Pushpa Bhusal said the changes would make it easier for women to rise to leadership positions.
