Nisshin, Sept. 26 -- Nepal's final preliminary group match of the 20th Asian Games against hosts Japan was abandoned due to heavy rain on Saturday, but the Rhinos had already done enough to advance as Group A's topper and book a quarterfinal clash against Sri Lanka.
Put into bat after losing the toss at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi, Nepal managed 149/4 in a match shortened by rain to 15 overs per side.
However, persistent torrential downpours following the conclusion of Nepal's innings forced the umpires to call off the fixture. Nepal and Japan then shared points.
