Kathmandu, Sept. 28 -- Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has sought support from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for relief and reconstruction efforts in Nepal following the recent disaster.

Wagle requested a meeting with AIIB President Zou Jiayi in Doha on Sunday, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Doha.

During the meeting, Zou expressed condolences over the loss of lives and property caused by the recent disaster in Nepal and said the AIIB was ready to support Nepal and its people.

Wagle thanked the AIIB for its continued support to Nepal and requested assistance for relief and reconstruction efforts, the embassy said.
