Kathmandu, July 14 -- Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav is scheduled to leave for Qatar on Tuesday for a three-day official visit to convey Nepal's condolences to the Qatari leadership following the death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yadav will hand over a letter of condolence from President Ramchandra Paudel to Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Wednesday.

The vice president is visiting Qatar as Nepal's representative to express condolences on behalf of the government over the demise of Sheikh Hamad, who served as Qatar's ruler from 1995 to 2013.

Senior government officials will accompany Yadav during the visit, the ministry said.
