Unsettled amount hit Rs755 billion as Rs88 billion added in a year
Kathmandu, May 15 -- The country's cumulative financial irregularities have continued to rise amid weak fiscal discipline in government and public spending.
According to the 63rd annual report of the Office of the Auditor General released on Friday, the state's total outstanding unsettled amount have reached Rs755.17 billion.
The report said irregularities amounting to Rs88.09 billion were recorded in the fiscal year 2024-25 alone. Audits conducted across 5,526 government offices covering expenditures worth Rs9.48 trillion uncovered nearly Rs100 billion in arrears during the review period.
