Dolpa, March 4 -- Two election personnel deployed to a polling centre in ward 6 of Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality were airlifted on Wednesday after falling ill.

Election Officer Bidur Koirala said election staff Gorkha Bahadur Thapa and election policeman Krishna Jhakri were rescued by helicopter from the polling centre at Phot village and brought to the district headquarters.

According to Topendra Budhamagar, information officer at the District Police office, Dolpa, five personnel-two election staff and three election police-had fallen ill. As three were in stable condition, only two were airlifted to Dunai.

Both are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital in Dolpa.
